As a Principal Engineer, you're the technical authority for our most complex customer engagements. You'll design and guide integration architectures, advise customers and internal teams on technical strategy, and write code when it matters. This role sits at the intersection of deep hands‑on engineering and executive‑level consultation.
A Typical Day
- Lead solutions architecture discussions with customer technical teams – aligning customer business and technical requirements with our solutions;
- Assessing technical feasibility, identifying integration risks, and recommending solutions that are secure and scalable.
- Review complex problems from implementation teams and provide technical direction and oversight.
- Design and build integrations, adapters, or extensions in Python to evaluate proof‑of‑concept approaches or unblock customer implementations.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success on complex technical deals, translating business requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Feed patterns and gaps you're seeing in the field back to Product & Engineering to influence the roadmap.
Here’s What We’re Looking For
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in (relevant degree) and a minimum of 15 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 12+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
- Expert‑level proficiency in Python and SQL.
- (Experience with C# and Go are a plus)
- Deep understanding of API design, cloud architectures, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Strong grasp of full SDLC, service‑oriented architecture, and security best practices.
- Hands‑on experience designing and building integrations across enterprise applications and third‑party services.
- Proven ability to advise executives and technical teams, translating complex requirements into clear solutions.
- Experience designing for scalability and security in large, complex environments.Track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar on a team.
- Proven experience contributing in Agile environments.
- Availability for on‑call/emergency support and ability to work flexible hours when needed.
- This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
