Stellantis is seeking a Principal Electrified Powertrain Controls Engineer to serve as a technical leader within the Electrified Propulsion Controls Center of Excellence, driving the strategy, architecture, and delivery of advanced electrified powertrain systems.
In this role, you will define system-level control strategies and lead the development and integration of next‑generation EV, BEV, REEV, and hybrid platforms, ensuring high-performance, scalable, and production-ready solutions.
The ideal candidate is a recognized expert in electrified propulsion controls, with strong experience shaping architecture, driving innovation, and leading complex global engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define control strategies and system architecture at the vehicle and system level
- Lead development and integration across multiple electrified vehicle programs (BEV, REEV, HEV)
- Drive complex control algorithm design, optimization, and performance improvements
- Ensure system robustness across the full V-cycle (MIL, SIL, HIL, and vehicle validation)
- Lead resolution of critical system issues and production challenges
- Establish engineering standards, methods, and best practices
- Drive innovation in advanced controls, including optimization and emerging approaches
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to engineering teams
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and executive leadership to align technical direction
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors' degree in relevant engineering field
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in controls/software engineering
- Recognized expertise in propulsion control systems
- Proven leadership in delivering production systems
- Strong influence across organizations
- Deep expertise in electrified powertrain systems and architectures
- Advanced control theory and system optimization
- Expert-level model-based development and embedded software
- End-to-end V-cycle ownership
- Extensive experience with validation, calibration, and diagnostics
- Strong system integration and vehicle-level performance understanding

Preferred Qualifications:
