Job Description
nPosition Description
nThe Principal Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for the design and delivery of advanced protection systems that safeguard electrical infrastructure from transient surges, lightning, and electromagnetic pulse (EMP) threats. This role applies advanced engineering principles to develop high-performance, reliable solutions that meet strict regulatory and safety requirements.
nThis individual leads the design, simulation, validation, and documentation of diode-based surge protection systems across power, data, and RF applications. The role requires deep expertise in transient protection, EMI/EMC compliance, and high-speed signal integrity, supporting mission-critical and highly regulated environments.
nAs a technical authority, the Principal Engineer guides complex engineering decisions, drives cross-functional alignment, and influences product and technology direction.
nKey Responsibilities
nLead architecture and design of next-generation surge protection solutions for power, data, and RF applications
nDefine and drive product and technology strategy, including design standards and engineering best practices
nPerform advanced modeling and simulation (transient events, EMI/EMC, signal integrity) to inform design decisions
nOversee prototype development, validation, and qualification to industry standards (IEC, IEEE, MIL-STD)
nEnsure designs meet performance, reliability, regulatory, and safety requirements (including highly regulated environments)
nConduct design reviews and maintain technical rigor across projects
nIdentify and mitigate technical risks; lead failure analysis and root cause investigations to improve reliability
nPresent technical concepts and solutions to internal and external stakeholders
nStay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements
nThis role pays between $160-185K and is preferred to sit remotely in Dallas Texas
