In this position professionals will develop detailed designs and analysis of low voltage electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, communication systems, and instrumentation for industrial and nuclear applications.

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individuals who possess the ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment using excellent communication and time management skills. In addition, Principal engineers perform engineering design evaluations, provide input on design company level processes/procedures, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.ResponsibilitiesParticipating in multidiscipline design teams to develop detailed designsWorking independently to develop specific design media to meet client design criteria and objectivesDevelopment and/or review of design media that will be issued for constructionPreparing design drawings, design calculations, equipment procurement specifications, fabrication and construction specificationsReviewing and evaluating customer design criteria and interpreting and applying design codes and standard to ensure design products conform to approved design criteria, preparing or reviewing design calculations and design drawings or sketches for correctness and accuracyDevelops and applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific areaEvaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with complex features.Works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projectsAssists with proposalsQualifications Required Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringProfessional Engineering License15+ years of experience in engineering design8+ years of experience in support of nuclear facilities or designsDOE or Hanford Experience strongly preferredDemonstrated knowledge of national codes and standards such as NEC, IEEE, and IEC.Demonstrated knowledge of electrical system analysis tools such as SKM Power ToolsMust have excellent written and oral communications skills as well as excellent computer skills that are relevant to job applications. Desired Qualifications Familiarity with MathCAD, AutoCAD,Solidworks preferredAbility to obtain PE License in Multiple StatesExperience with Federal Projects within the Department of Defense, Department of Energy or Hanford Specific Experience Accountabilities: Execute technical tasks assignedProvide input to cost estimates and execution schedulesSupport project management staff in planning and execution of workInteracts with clients, customers, officials and contractorsDeliver scope on time, on budget and in accordance with expectations, including delivery in a safe and secure mannerCompliance with policies and procedures
