Principal Electrical EngineerThe Raytheon Electronic Warfare - Electrical and Electronics Engineering team in Goleta, California has an immediate opening for a Principal Electrical Engineer to design and develop Electronic Warfare (EW) electronics products for defense applications.What You Will DoDesign and develop a broad range of mixed-signal circuits including but not limited to Power, Analog, Digital, FPGA, SoC and Subsystems.Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one of the Electronic Engineering subdisciplines and have a working knowledge of them all.Digital / analog hardware architecture, schematic capture, design analysis, simulation, hands-on laboratory validation and troubleshooting of complex electronic assemblies and systems.Support radar Warning Receivers (RWR) and other Electronic Warfare (EW) products require working familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) circuitry and system interfaces.Support multiple programs concurrently and will be responsible for generating requirements documentation, design artifacts, verification and test plans.Contribute at times as a technical leader as part of a cross-disciplinary product development team collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers.Occasional business travel may be required.Qualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience.Experience in schematic capture, PCB layout support, signal integrity analysis, and validation of FPGA-based digital and mixed-signal systems, including power conversion and power delivery network design.Experience with industry-standard electronic design and simulation tools such as Mentor Xpedition (or equivalent schematic/layout platforms), SPICE-based simulators, MATLAB, and HyperLynx SI for high-speed signal integrity analysis.Experience developing system-level block diagrams and defining hardware architectures, including creation and management of detailed bills of materials (BOMs) for complex electronic assemblies.Experience in laboratory testing and troubleshooting electronic hardware using bench power supplies, signal and waveform generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, programming tools, and hardware emulators.Qualifications We PreferExperience designing FPGA-based circuitry and JTAG programming of FPGA devices.Experience designing airborne electronic products while meeting attendant size, weight, power, reliability, and cost requirements.Understand modern electronic system design, including high-performance FPGAs, Flash and DDR memory interfaces, Analog-to-Digital (A/D) and Digital-to-Analog (D/A) conversion, DC/DC and AC/DC power conversion, and overall mixed-signal circuit analysis.Electrical design and analysis with Mentor Graphics XPedition and HyperLynx SI, SPICE.Experience with design of CCAs with FPGAs, flash memory, DDR RAM, ADCs, DACs, power conversion integrated circuits, and supporting analog circuits.Experience with RF components or specifications and creating POL supplies for RF circuitry.What We OfferA total rewards package that goes above and beyond with compensation; healthcare, wellness, and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs.
