Join us and our 18,000 colleagues now and together we will make the world a brighter place.The primary responsibility of this role is to perform product and process development in the film and sheet processing of the Specialty Films subdivision.Major Tasks & Responsibilities:Develop modified and new grades of TPU, polycarbonate, and multilayer film and sheet productsDevelop multi-layer and cast-on-carrier productsLead key development projectsSupport projects that require capital investmentsExplore and assess polymer chemistries new to CovestroProvide Technical Service to our Customer BaseDocument and report progress of the product development programsProvide technical advice to vendor selectionCollaborate with Specialty Films technical staff globallyProvide leadership and support to local plant operations for upgrades and new processing technologiesBasic Qualifications:High school diploma with 14+ years of professional experience relevant to the Major Tasks & Responsibilities of the position; OR Associate's degree in an engineering or related technical discipline with 9+ years of relevant professional experience; OR Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 6+ years of relevant professional experience; OR Master's degree in an engineering discipline with 4 years of relevant professional experiencePreferred Qualifications:Degree in chemical engineering or plastics engineeringSpecific experience with manufacturing or development of plastic films, including thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), polycarbonate (PC), or similarSpecific familiarity with DOE software such as JMP or MinitabKnowledge and Skills:Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skillsStrong verbal, written communication and presentation skillsAbility to translate development activities into commercially viable technologies and productsDemonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence othersProven track record of project management and cross-functional project team leadershipStrong computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Your ApplicationAre you as curious, courageous and colorful as we are?
