Principal Cryogenics Systems Design Engineer
The Effector-Optics (EO) Department is currently seeking a Principal Cryogenics Systems Design Engineer with design and analysis skills, experience in cryogenics systems, component fabrication, and testing. You will work with multi-discipline teams supporting military programs in the development and production phases of infrared sensor systems.
This is an onsite position located in our Tucson, AZ campus.
What You Will Do
- Design and analysis of high-pressure gas supply assemblies, Joule-Thompson coolers, Stirling coolers, Dewar design, Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) Hermetic vessels and sealing techniques.
- Troubleshoot EO Cryogenic systems.
- Work closely with components suppliers.
- Prepare technical justification analysis reports
- Occasional travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in Thermodynamic, Heat Transfer Analysis and Structural Analysis.
- Experience with Pro/Engineer and/or CREO.
- Experience with fluid, pneumatic, vacuum, cryogenics systems design, analysis, or fabrication.
