Principal Associate, Product Design - Design Systems

Capital One is hiring a Product Designer to join the Card Servicing Experience design team. The role oversees the agent platform and its associated design system and governance processes, combines product design craft with customer and business understanding to co-create solutions, and focuses on defining and deploying consistent, reusable components and patterns. The designer is expected to enable design and product partners with documentation to leverage, contribute to, scale, and evolve the design library.

What you'll do

• Oversee work on the agent platform and its associated design system and governance processes
• Define and deploy consistent, reusable componentry and patterns across the product portfolio
• Enable design and product partners with documentation needed to leverage, contribute to, scale, and evolve the library
• Leverage interaction, visual and service design skills to create artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs and prototypes
• Build and maintain robust, scalable Figma components using nested instances, variants, text-properties, booleans, and interactive components
• Document component tech specs and usage guidelines including dos, don’ts, accessibility guidance and usage examples
• Create responsive components and documentation via auto layout, constraints, and interactive connections
• Apply atomic design methodology to ensure proper level of inheritance throughout the design system

What they're looking for

• At least 3 years of experience in a Product Design role
• At least 3 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma
• Experience leading a design system
• At least 4 years of experience in a Product Design role (preferred)
• At least 4 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma (preferred)
• At least 4 years of experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners (preferred)
• At least 4 years of experience working with an established design system (preferred)
• Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces (preferred)
