As the senior technical anchor for Active Defense, the full-time Principal Active Defense Engineer will set the technical direction for threat detection, lead complex initiatives from concept to production, and mentor team members while working remotely. Key responsibilities Set the technical direction and architecture for detection methodologies and design standards Lead large initiatives from concept through to live operation, ensuring validation and documentation Mentor engineers through design and code reviews to elevate the team's technical capabilities Required qualifications 10+ years of experience in software, platform, or security engineering with a focus on detection capabilities Proven technical leadership as an individual contributor, setting direction and leading multi-system initiatives Expertise in a general-purpose programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for building detection logic Experience architecting a detections-as-code pipeline or production data pipeline for other engineers to build upon Familiarity with SIEM platforms like Splunk and experience in public cloud application development and security
