WellMed, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join their South Austin clinic in Austin, TX. Practice Info

  • Practice with a multi-disciplinary team of health care providers
  • Model designed to provide efficient, comprehensive, and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient - physically, mentally, and socially - at each visit
  • Typically see 14 to 16 patients per day
  • Patient panel is predominately geriatrics with Medicare Advantage coverage
  • Practice medicine autonomously in an ambulatory setting partnering with primary care

Compensation

  • Guaranteed, competitive compensation model based on quality, not quantity, with significant earning potential, annual increases, and bonus eligibility
  • Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $204,500-$352,000
  • Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role
  • Bonus incentives are based on quality metrics

Requirements

  • Required: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.), or M.B.B.S.
  • Required: Board certification or eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine, or currently completing an accredited residency program
  • Required: Active, unrestricted medical license in Texas, or the ability to obtain one prior to employment
  • Required: Valid DEA license, or the ability to obtain prior to employment
  • Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
  • Preferred: A working understanding and support of a managed care environment
