Primary Care Physician

The Charleston, SC VA Healthcare System is seeking multiple full-time Primary Care physicians across multiple locations in South Carolina and Georgia. Physicians will provide comprehensive outpatient care, encompassing acute and chronic medical conditions, preventive health measures, and patient education. Practice Info

• Outpatient primary care setting
• Multiple locations available including Myrtle Beach, Goose Creek, North Charleston, and Beaufort, SC, as well as Savannah and Hinesville, GA

Responsibilities

• Performs and records history and physical examinations and records data from clinic visits
• Evaluates, consults, develops diagnosis, and manages the primary care panel of patients assigned
• Enters progress notes in computerized medical record and completes workload documentation in a timely manner
• Provides medical care encompassing acute and chronic medical conditions and all appropriate preventive care for both male and female veterans
• Orders diagnostic tests, medications, and laboratory tests as medically relevant for each patient
• Provides timely follow-up on results and patient inquiries, including view alerts and secure messages
• Determines medical assessment and develops treatment plans according to accepted protocols
• Prescribes medications according to approved formulary and in accordance with Federal and State Law

Compensation

• Salary range from $245,000 to $280,000

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Must have full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in ANY U.S. State
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, and/or Family Medicine is preferred
