Primary Care Physician

Join the Veterans Affairs team in Hampton Roads, Virginia, to provide whole-health care to those who served our country as a Primary Care Physician. This position offers an outpatient-only practice setting with no inpatient rounding and no call, operating Monday through Friday. Physicians will enjoy a manageable patient panel, collaborative multidisciplinary teams, and a supportive environment at the Hampton VA Medical Center and Chesapeake outpatient clinics.

Practice Info

• Outpatient-only practice: no inpatient rounding and no call
• Panel of about 1,200 patients, with about 8-13 patients per day and about 30 hours per week of face-to-face care
• Team-based care with multidisciplinary colleagues

Shift & Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• No employment contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and make appropriate treatment decisions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in team meetings and treatment planning
• Practice in line with Joint Commission, CARF, VA, and VISN standards, clinical practice guidelines, and HIPAA requirements
• Specific duties are outlined in your Credentialing and Privileging package

Compensation

• Starting salary: $262,000, plus annual performance bonus and regular salary increases
