Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) - Internal Medicine / Family Medicine
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine and committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
The physician will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a broad range of acute and chronic conditions while building long-term relationships with patients and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to adult and/or family patients.
- Conduct physical examinations, medical histories, and routine health assessments.
- Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' medical needs.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and other evaluations.
- Prescribe medications and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.
- Perform preventive care, health screenings, and patient education.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers when needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
- Collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, specialists, and other clinical staff.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, lifestyle changes, and preventive health.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and follow applicable clinical and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the applicable state.
- DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an outpatient primary care setting.
- Experience managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and cardiovascular disease.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
