Summary
This position is for a potential contract that will provide the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic with Defense Health Readiness Engineering Support. Support includes engineering and integration support, testing, training, cyber security, fleet support, planning, release management, and reporting for the Theater Medical Information Program (TMIP) and Joint Operational Medical Information System (JOMIS) applications. This support encompasses sustainment and modernization of clinical information systems, life‑cycle management support services, and infrastructure requiring Subject Matter Experts (SME) in protection of privacy related information and data flow management within the integrated health systems. Functional and technical expertise supporting Information Management/ Information Technology (IM/IT) systems to include client-server applications and customized web solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prevent damage to, protect, and restore computers, electronic communications systems, electronic communications services, wire communication, and electronic communication, including information contained therein, to ensure its availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and nonrepudiation
- Ensure Navy applications, systems, and networks satisfy Federal/DoD/DON/Navy cybersecurity requirements
- Ensure that all products recommended and/or procured meet cybersecurity and computer requirements
- Work with Government personnel to ensure compliance with all current Navy IT & cybersecurity policies, including those pertaining to Cyber Asset Reduction and Security (CARS)
- Ensure that all products recommended and/or procured that impact cybersecurity or Information Assurance (IA) are selected from the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Validated Products List
- Ensure the products chosen are based on the appropriate NIAP‑approved Protection Profile (PP) for the network involved, and are utilized in accordance with latest Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) policy at time of order
- Ensure any equipment/system installed or integrated into Navy platform will meet the cybersecurity requirements as specified under DoDI
Education
- BS degree in engineering, physics, computer science, information security, or other technically oriented curricula.
Certification
- Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification.
- Cisco’s Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security
- CompTIA CySA+ (formerly listed as CSA+)
- GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
- GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- EC‑Council Certified Network Defender (CND)
- (ISC)² System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
Experience
- Six (6) years of experience in the support of the prevention of damage to, protection of, and restoration or computers, electronic communications systems, electronic communications services, wire communication, and electronic communication to ensure data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and nonrepudiation; support to include: design secure systems, write secure computer code, and create the tools needed to prevent, detect, mitigate, and reconstitute information systems.
