Pricing Analyst (Legal)
Location: New York, NY | Los Angeles, CA | Washington, DC
Schedule: Hybrid — one day in the office per week
Compensation: Up to $90,000 base salary + discretionary bonus
Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire
A leading global law firm is seeking a Pricing Analyst to support its growing pricing team. This opportunity is ideal for an early-career analyst looking to build expertise in pricing, financial analysis, and profitability within a collaborative professional services environment.
What You'll Do
* Support the development of pricing proposals, client budgets, and alternative fee arrangements.
* Build Excel models to analyze matter profitability and support pricing decisions.
* Review historical financial data and comparable matters to help develop budgets for new engagements.
* Analyze billing rates, client performance, and market trends to identify pricing opportunities.
* Help monitor budgets and prepare recommendations for pricing adjustments.
* Maintain and audit billing rate and special fee arrangement data.
* Prepare reports and presentations highlighting pricing trends and financial insights.
* Collaborate with attorneys, finance colleagues, and other internal teams on analyses and special projects.
What We're Looking For
* Relevant experience in pricing or financial analysis within a law firm or similar professional services organization.
* Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, formulas, and working with large datasets.
* An interest in developing expertise in legal pricing, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
* Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Clear communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
* Bachelor's degree; finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field preferred.
* Experience with Elite 3E, Aderant, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
