This role plays a critical part in our bid and RFP process, ensuring pricing reflects real market conditions, internal cost structures, and the operational realities of port.This individual contributor role requires extensive hands-on experience in drayage logistics pricing and a deep understanding of the operational factors that impact rates, including terminal constraints, equipment availability, appointment-based workflows, and short-haul network dynamics.What You'll DoPricing & Market AnalysisDevelop pricing for drayage using market data, lane performance, and historical trendsIncorporate port operations, terminal constraints, chassis availability, dwell time, and appointment requirements into pricing assumptionsUtilize internal cost models and industry tools to price short-haul and port-centric lanes accuratelyEvaluate margin impact and ensure pricing aligns with profitability and network strategyMonitor market dynamics, congestion patterns, capacity shifts, and competitor pricingBid & RFP SupportPrepare and review pricing for bids, RFQs, and RFPs with a focus on drayage and containerized freightEnsure pricing submissions meet customer requirements, service expectations, and deadlinesPartner with Sales, Operations, and other stakeholders to deliver accurate, executable proposalsAnalyze win/loss results and provide recommendations to improve competitiveness and bid strategyCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Sales, Operations, Capacity, and Finance to validate pricing assumptionsHelp determine which freight opportunities align best with our drayage network and operational capabilitiesSupport internal teams with pricing insights, scenario analysis, and recommendationsDocumentation & Process ImprovementMaintain pricing documentation, templates, and bid recordsSupport continuous improvement of pricing tools, processes, and cost models as the business scalesWhat We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications:3–5 years of direct experience pricing drayage or containerized freight transportationMust have extensive hands-on experience in pricing, bid management, or analytics within transportation or logistics, with direct experience pricing drayageStrong analytical skills and comfort working with data and pricing modelsProficiency in Excel (modeling, analysis, scenario evaluation)Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skillsAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentFamiliarity with port operations, terminals, chassis providers, and appointment-based workflowsExposure to RFP/RFQ processesSalesforce or CRM experienceExperience with freight market tools and rate benchmarkingBenefits & PerksCargomatic offers a competitive benefits package designed to support your health, financial security, and overall well-being.Medical, dental, and vision coverage with multiple plan options, including HSA-eligible plansCompany-paid life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverageFlexible spending accounts and dependent care savings optionsEmployee Assistance Program with confidential counseling, legal, and financial resourcesWellness programs and benefit advocacy supportEqual Opportunity EmployerCargomatic is an equal opportunity employer.
