Burn Table Operator/Machine OperatorThe Burn Table Operator/Machine Operator is responsible for safely and accurately cutting materials. The Burn Table Operator will also handle materials, count parts, operate computer programs, and ensure safe and efficient operation of the work area. The position requires cross training on other machines like saws and press brakes.Essential Responsibilities:Accurately align torches, load drills and run specific programs to cut steel parts.Ability to accurately read tape measure, and/ or calipers.Good working knowledge of steel grades, thicknesses, fractions and their decimal equivalentsAbility to accurately read instructions or press drawings, measures, holds, and positions materialsAbility to read and understand parts lists to cut correct number of parts to the required specificationAbility to safely operate equipment to produce parts for the production processAbility to safely and properly operate an overhead crane or forklift to position heavy materialsInspects finished parts for quality and accuracy and informs supervisor of any non-conformitiesMaintain and use all required personal protective equipment as outlined in Screen Machine's Safety ManualUnderstands and follows all SMI's safety policies and proceduresPerform other tasks as assigned or neededMaintains a positive attitude and works well with othersAssists with special projects as assigned by supervisorMarks specific parts for identification
