Iconex is headquartered in Morristown, TN, USA.The Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, optimizing, and troubleshooting label production equipment to manufacture products that meet quality, safety, and productivity requirements. This role monitors product quality throughout all phases of operation, ensures correct raw materials are processed, performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance, records production information, and supports packing and material movement as needed. The Press Operator also maintains 6S housekeeping standards, participates in EHS and continuous improvement activities, communicates effectively with cross-functional teams, and supports training, cross-training, and the development of standard work documentation.ResponsibilitiesCompliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), standards, regulations, and rulesDirect participation in EHS training, safety observations, and hazard identificationSeeks and proactively implements Continuous Improvement (CI) activities through teamwork and CI process participationProactively monitor and assume responsibility for product quality during all phases of operationsPerform set-up, operate, optimize, and troubleshoot Label equipment to manufacture product according to quality and productivity requirementsPreparation, testing, and application of adhesives, inks, releases, or other chemistry to support operationsEnsures that equipment runs in accordance with operational standards, goals, and expectationsPerforms minor repairs and preventative maintenance as neededEnsure the correct raw materials are being processedLogs and posts production information into the computer and/or required production logsProvide communication daily with other departments including planning, maintenance, leadership, HR, and other coworkers.Maintain 6S housekeeping standards of work zones and walkwaysSupport packing and material movement tasks as neededDirectly supports training and cross training of other coworkersSupport development and roll out of Standard Work including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), One Point Lessons, (OPL) and Training DocumentationPerform other duties/tasks as assignedRequired Skills/AbilitiesTwo or more years printing experience preferredGood mechanical abilityAbility to use rulers, gauges, calipers, and other testing equipment.Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to working with moving equipmentEffective communications and interpersonal skills to work as a team memberAbility to work independently and make good decisions without constant supervisionWell-developed work habits to ensure smooth machine operation and minimal downtimeProficiency with computers; ability to learn and use additional programsAbility to distinguish differences between finished product compared to product specificationsAbility to identify maintenance needs and ensure that all required preventive maintenance is performedAbility to lift products up to 50 lbs.
