Press HelperWe are seeking a Press Helper to join our team in Commack, NY. In this position, the Press Helper is responsible for setting up and operating the printing press to produce carton/box and related products.Pay Rate: $17.00/HourlyResponsibilities:Reads job orders and loads paper into the pressFill the fountainsCleans plates and print cylindersPerforms daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as requiredKeeps work areas clean and organized, maintains housekeeping standardsHelps pressman with putting loads out of the pressSpeed loads press feederClean blankets, as neededQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredKBA sheeted press, 8 color & 9 color experience is required.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsMust be able to read and interpret rulers, scales and other measurement devicesAdherent to all safety procedures and guidelines related to operating machinerySuperb attention to detail and product qualitySpecific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusRegularly exposed to noise, dust, odors and oilsAbility to work efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlinesPhysical Requirements:Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment (24-hour turnaround on product)Aptitude for mechanical operationAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsMust be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistanceExcellent attendance and punctuality - accurately record work time on a daily basisAble to operate a computer and time clock machines
