Security Sales Engineer – Cybersecurity

Chicago, Illinois (Remote) - MUST BE BASED IN CHICAGO

Travel: Approximately 40%

We are recruiting an experienced Security Sales Engineer for a leading global cybersecurity technology vendor specialising in network security, threat detection and mitigation.

This is a highly technical, customer-facing pre-sales position supporting enterprise customers across the North Central US region.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to drive enterprise cybersecurity sales opportunities.
• Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations and Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
• Understand customer security challenges and design appropriate technical solutions.
• Position solutions against competitors and overcome technical objections.
• Engage with security engineers, IT leadership and C-level executives.
• Support the full sales cycle from initial discovery through to deal closure.

Experience Required

• 5–8+ years of cybersecurity pre-sales / Sales Engineering experience , ideally with a security technology vendor.
• Strong knowledge of Network Detection & Response (NDR), DDoS protection and enterprise network security .
• Experience with technologies such as ExtraHop, Vectra AI, Darktrace, Corelight, Cisco Secure Network Analytics or similar.
• Hands-on knowledge of TCP/IP, NetFlow, packet analysis, threat hunting and incident response.
• Proven experience delivering PoCs and supporting complex enterprise sales cycles.
• Excellent communication, presentation and customer-facing skills.
• Strong career stability and a track record of success.

Chicago-based candidates only. Home-based position with approximately 40% regional travel. Must live within 45 minutes of a major airport.
