We are seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to join our Kitchen Team as Prep Cooks.Position: Prep Cook / Kitchen Team Department: Back of HousePosition Summary: The Prep Cook plays a vital role in supporting kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all food is handled in accordance with company standards. This position requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to food safety.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Prepare ingredients including washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning food itemsFollow standardized recipes and prep lists to ensure consistency and qualityMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station at all timesProperly label, date, and store all food itemsAssist cooks and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasksRestock kitchen supplies and ingredients as neededOperate kitchen equipment safely and efficientlyFollow all company policies, procedures, and food safety guidelinesAssist with receiving and organizing deliveriesSupport overall kitchen operations and teamworkSafety & Sanitation:Adhere to all local health department regulations and food safety standardsFollow proper handwashing, glove use, and hygiene practicesMaintain safe food handling, storage, and temperature control proceduresUse knives and kitchen equipment safely and responsiblyImmediately report any unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or injuriesFollow all workplace safety policies, including slip, trip, and fall preventionPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more)Ability to lift and carry up to 40–50 poundsFrequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motionsAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-temperature kitchen environmentManual dexterity to safely operate kitchen tools and equipmentAbility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededQualifications:Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred, but not requiredBasic understanding of food safety practicesStrong work ethic and attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a team environmentReliable, punctual, and able to follow directionsEqual Opportunity Employer Statement: Urth Caffé is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
