They help clean the facilities, railcars, and other areas on the property and may assist with minor railcar repairs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare multi-level auto rack railcars in accordance with Appendix B of Association of American Railroad and company standardsDemonstrate predictable, dependable, and timely attendanceFollow detailed written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedulePhysically open and close doors of multi-level auto rack railcarsInspect and lubricate railcar doors, pin assemblies, and door tracksUse portable backpack blowers, vacuums, brooms, and power tools to clean debris from multi-level railcar decksInspect multi-level railcar racks for defects and debrisRepair minor railcar defectsSafely place vehicle wheel chocks and other securement devicesRemove snow and ice from railcar decks, walkways, and facilitiesKeep accurate inventory of railcar repair partsPerform general facility maintenance such as cleaning, sweeping, and taking out trashUnderstand and apply company and railway safety compliance standardsPerforms other duties as assigned or requiredQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
