Prep / Base Stone Foreman

Prep/Base Stone ForemanByrne & Jones Construction - Nashville is seeking an experienced Prep/base stone foreman to supervise and coordinate all site preparation activities prior to asphalt paving operations. This role will lead prep crews, operate equipment when needed, and work closely with paving crews and project managers.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and lead asphalt prep crew membersPlan and coordinate daily site preparation activitiesReview project plans, blueprints, and specificationsOversee grading, excavation, compaction, and base preparationEnsure proper installation of base materialsMonitor elevations, slopes, and drainage to meet specificationsCoordinate with paving foreman to ensure readiness for asphalt placementOperate heavy equipment as needed (skid steer, roller, grader, loader, etc.)Inspect work to ensure proper compaction and surface preparationEnforce OSHA and company safety standardsTrain crew members on equipment operation and prep proceduresQualifications3+ years of experience in asphalt, grading, or site preparation1–3 years of supervisory or foreman experience preferredStrong knowledge of subgrade prep, aggregate base, compaction, and drainageAbility to read and interpret site plans and grade stakesExperience operating heavy equipmentStrong leadership and communication skillsValid driver's licensePhysical RequirementsAbility to work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift 50+ lbs.Comfortable working around heavy equipment and moving machineryFast-paced, production-driven environmentByrne & Jones Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
