We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PreOp PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Orange Park, FL. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional nursing care to patients in the Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) settings, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities
- Assess and prepare patients for surgery in the Pre-Operative area.
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU, ensuring stable vital signs and managing pain effectively.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with ASC policies.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery expectations.
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies and changes in condition.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Perform Crash Cart and environmental check offs.
- Complete PAT calls and coordinate patient schedule.
- Organize medication room and verify adequate medications are available for cases.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in the state of Florida.
- Experience in Pre-Operative and PACU nursing preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
