Picture your day: you review a detailed print, set up for a clean TIG pass on stainless, then switch over to MIG for a robust carbon steel assembly. You measure, cut, fit, and tack with precision, verify alignment, lay down consistent beads, and finish to spec-all while keeping your station organized and safe.
What you'll handle- Produce high-quality MIG and TIG welds on a variety of metal components and assemblies.
- Perform layout, cutting, positioning, alignment, fit-up, and tack welding prior to final weld.
- Interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols to determine sequence and method.
- Prepare and clean materials and joint surfaces to ensure proper weld quality.
- Work with both carbon steel and stainless steel, selecting appropriate process and settings.
- Grind and finish welded joints as needed to meet specifications.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated parts to confirm accuracy and quality standards.
- Safely operate grinders, cutting equipment, hand tools, and related fabrication equipment.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
- Hands-on MIG and TIG welding experience in a fabrication setting.
- Background in metal fabrication and fitting, including layout and assembly.
- Ability to read and apply blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.
- Experience working with carbon steel and/or stainless steel.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating MIG/TIG welding equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Welding certification or technical training is a plus.
A hands-on weld test may be required to demonstrate welding skills.
