Baylor University Practice Court AssociateBaylor's Law School is seeking a Practice Court Associate who will support the mission of Baylor University by providing administrative and logistical support for the Practice Court program. A Juris Doctor degree and less than a year of experience required. A Juris Doctor degree and less than two years of experience preferred.

Bar admission required/anticipated. Additional requirements include:Must have knowledge of Baylor Law's Practice Court program and an understanding of the quarter systemMust be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with attention to detailStrong organizational skills and ability to follow through on projects independentlyDesire to work in fast-paced environment with a hard-working, dedicated teamFrequently moves materials, boxes, and exhibits weighing up to 25 pounds across the school for various needsAbility to manage a heavy workload and handle competing deadlines in a work environment involving a large number of interruptionsAbility to analyze and review guidelines, policies and procedures to determine appropriate solutions to problems and/or questionsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to work collaborativelyAbility to exercise initiative and independent judgmentWillingness to learn new processes and skills, and willingness to complete regular training for all systems used regularlyApplications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Handle all scheduling for advocacy exercises connected with the Baylor Practice Court program, including the assignment and coordination of schedules for approximately 160-175 students per year, four PC faculty members, half a dozen Legal Writing faculty members, approximately 50 Jaworski Fellows and Candidates, and additional other judges and attorneys participating in the programServe as the primary initial liaison between Practice Court students and faculty, to address questions and coordinate responses as needed, requiring an in-depth understanding of the objectives, materials, and practices in the programCoordinate the administrative and technical details for the conduct of classes and advocacy exercises in the Practice Court programTrack and record grades for the multiple courses and advocacy exercises in the Practice Court programAssist with the Top Gun National Mock Trial Competition and other Baylor Law advocacy competitionsPerform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.Ability to comply with university policies.Maintain regular and punctual attendance.As part of the Baylor family, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous time off, tuition remission, and outstanding automatic retirement contributions.
