We are building a continuous pipeline of qualified applicants to support our Traditional Program students during their weekday clinical rotations at our Alberta (Christanna Campus) and South Boston (Daniel Technology Center) locations. The PN Clinical Instructor assumes responsibility for planning, teaching, and evaluating practical nursing students in the clinical area, ensuring they develop the safe, foundational bedside skills required for LPN practice. Applications will be received, reviewed, and considered continuously until needed positions are filled.Duties & ResponsibilitiesBecome familiar with the philosophy, objectives, and policies of the PN programBecome familiar with the Nursing Student Handbook, the adjunct faculty handbook, and general college policiesAttend student and faculty orientations to the clinical area according to agency policyProvide continuous on-site supervision and guidance using components of the nursing processRemain accessible at all times to ensure patient safety and student guidance in the clinical settingSelect student patient assignments that align with fundamental practical nursing learning outcomesReview clinical objectives with students, conduct pre- and post-clinical conferences, and serve as a professional role model.Review, correct, and provide meaningful feedback on written clinical assignments, returning them to students within one week (prior to their next clinical shift).Formally evaluate and record student clinical progress at midterm and at the conclusion of each rotationDiscuss documented strengths and areas needing improvement directly with the student using designated evaluation forms.Maintain a safe, cooperative learning environment with clinical agency staffPromptly report student absences, behavioral issues, or clinical performance concerns to the full-time PN faculty or Program CoordinatorAttend selected nursing faculty and/or curricular meetings as designated by the Program Coordinator or Director.Submission of the online application should also include a resume/CV, Cover Letter, Meli and ALL Transcripts of all college work completed, or your application may not be reviewed. Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate degree with enrollment in a BSN programAt least two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, preferably in a medical-surgical, gerontological, or long-term care setting relevant to practical nursing instructionMust hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or hold a valid multi-state privilegeMaintain professional clinical competence through ongoing nursing practice, continuing education, or academic courseworkAdditional Considerations: Each agency within the Commonwealth of Virginia is dedicated to recruiting, supporting, and maintaining a competent and diverse work force.
