PPMS Math Counts Club Sponsor

The math counts sponsor is the representative of the principal to ensure that students are prepared for competition and represent the school in a positive manner. The sponsor will work to establish team/teams and prepare practice competitions that will enhance math skills commensurate with other math teams.

Reports To: School Principal

Qualifications And Experience:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated management, leadership and human relations skills
• Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions
• Proven ability to carry an assignment to its completion
• Demonstrated success in accomplishing tasks akin to the duties and responsibilities listed below
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Calvert County Public Schools may find appropriate and acceptable

Duties And Responsibilities:

• To advertise through the Math department encouraging membership.
• Determine primary team and alternate teams using appropriate assessment tools.
• Hold regularly scheduled review sessions in preparation for competition.
• Complete appropriate registration and submit payment by due date.
• Communicate with students and parents the expectations for those participating in this activity.
• Provide school and families with a calendar of events
• Attend any regional or state competitions.

Other Duties: Performs related work as required or assigned by the Principal and/or Athletic Director

Physical Demands: Position requires significant periods of standing and walking, and is performed in a typical school environment

Terms Of Employment: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience applied to the current year Extra Pay for Extra Duty Longevity Pay Schedule.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy on evaluation as established by the Calvert County Public Schools.
