TheFieldQualityEngineer ,actingasanindependentcontributor,supportsdiagnostics,fieldquality,andissueresolutionacrosstheassignedregion.Thisrolepartnerswithdealers,customers,engineering,manufacturing,quality,andproductsupportteamstoinvestigatecomplexconcerns,improvereliabilityanduptime,andbringcustomerfeedbackintocorrectiveactionandcontinuousimprovementefforts.

KeyResponsibilities

CriticalCaseSupport&Resolution

• Providediagnosticguidanceforcomplex,high-priority,orunresolvedfieldconcerns.


• Validatecontainmentactionsandcorrectivesolutionsforescalatedconcerns.


• PerformadvanceddiagnosticsandpartnerwithEngineeringtovalidatehypotheses.

Field Issue Configuration & Cross Functional Collaboration

• Documentcomplexconcernswithcompletedata,includinglogs,videos,freeze-framedata,telematics,dutycycle,andconditions.


• EscalatecriticalconcernswithnecessaryevidencetoEngineering,FieldQuality,andProductSupport.


• MaintainglobalIssueMasteraccuracyforvisibilityandconsistency.


• Participateinrootcauseandcorrectiveactionreviewstoimproveproductquality.


• ServeastheVoiceoftheCustomerbygatheringinputfromcustomers.


• Translatereal-worldoperatingconditionsintoactionabletechnicalinsights.

Launches,Training&KnowledgeTransfer

• Supportearlywarningactivitiesfornewlauncheswithselectedfleets.


• Shareemergingissuefeedbackwithrelevantinternalteams.

RequiredQualifications

• Bachelor'sDegreeinMechanicalEngineering,EngineeringTechnology,IndustrialEngineering,orrelatedtechnicalfield.


• Minimum5yearsofexperiencewithdieselengines,powertrain,diagnostics,productquality,fieldengineering,technicalservice,orrelatedarea.


• Experiencetroubleshootingcomplexmechanical,electrical,andelectronicsystems.


• Experienceworkingwithcustomers,dealers,technicians,OEMs.


• Stronganalyticalskills,includingrootcauseidentificationandcorrectiveactiondevelopment.


• Experiencecollecting,documenting,andanalyzingtechnicalfielddata.


• Abilitytotravelextensivelythroughouttheassignedterritoryandotherlocations.


• Validdriver'slicenseandabilitytooperateapersonalvehicleforbusinesstravelandrentalvehiclesasrequired.


• ProficiencywithMicrosoftOfficeapplicationsanddiagnosticsoftwaretools.


• Abilitytoworkindependentlywithlimitedsupervisionwhileeffectivelymanagingmultiplepriorities.

• Advancedknowledgeofdieselengineandaftertreatmentsystemtechnologies.


• Experiencesupportingcommercialvehicles,agriculturalequipment,constructionequipment,powergeneration,oroff-highwayapplications.


• Experienceinqualityengineering,warrantyanalysis,technicalservice,fieldservice,orreliabilityengineering.


• Experiencewithstructuredproblem-solvingtoolssuchas8D,5Why,Fishbone,FMEA,orSixSigma.


• Knowledgeofwarrantyanalysis,performancemetrics,reliabilitytrends,andcorrectiveaction.


• Professionalengineeringcertificationortechnicalcertificationsrelatedtodieselenginesanddiagnostics.


• Workingknowledgeoftelematicssystemsanddataacquisitiontools.


• Englishrequired;additionallanguageskillssuchasItalianorSpanishareconsideredanasset.
