Power Systems Engineering DirectorLocation: Marietta, OH Employment Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $160,000+ annually, based on experience, leadership background, and technical expertisePosition SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to oversee the development and execution of low-voltage power distribution solutions serving mission-critical infrastructure and data-driven facilities. This position is responsible for guiding engineering strategy, managing technical teams, supporting operational objectives, and ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of power distribution equipment with proven experience leading engineering organizations in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment.Leadership & Organizational ImpactProvide direction, mentorship, and technical leadership to electrical and mechanical engineering professionalsEstablish performance expectations related to design quality, project execution, accountability, and engineering excellenceSupport employee development through coaching, training, and professional growth initiativesDrive improvements in engineering workflows, standardization efforts, and department efficiencyFoster collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, commercial, and operations teamsPower Distribution Engineering OversightLead the engineering development of low-voltage switchboard and power distribution productsSupport projects involving equipment designed to UL 891 and UL 1558 requirementsEnsure solutions align with customer specifications, one-line diagrams, project requirements, and operational objectivesGuide engineering decisions involving bus configurations, breaker arrangements, metering systems, protection strategies, and controls integrationPromote scalable design practices that improve consistency across multiple projectsManufacturing & Commercial CollaborationPartner with production teams to ensure engineering designs support efficient fabrication and assembly processesWork closely with estimating and business development teams on technical proposals, bills of material, and quotation activitiesParticipate in customer-facing discussions, design reviews, and technical presentationsCoordinate with procurement and supply chain personnel regarding component selection, sourcing strategies, and vendor supportHelp ensure technical deliverables support commercial objectives and project execution requirementsCompliance, Validation & Quality SystemsMaintain adherence to applicable UL, NEC, and industry standards associated with power distribution equipmentSupport factory acceptance testing, witness testing, validation activities, and engineering verification processesEnsure engineering documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintainedPromote quality-focused practices throughout engineering and manufacturing operationsSupport certification requirements and ongoing compliance initiativesProject Delivery & Strategic ExecutionManage engineering priorities within multiple concurrent projects and production schedulesIdentify technical, operational, and project risks early in the development cycleImplement mitigation plans to support project success and customer satisfactionContribute to large-scale infrastructure and critical-power initiatives from concept through deliverySupport broader business objectives through strategic planning and operational leadershipRequired QualificationsDemonstrated success leading engineering teams within electrical manufacturing, power systems, switchgear, or switchboard environmentsStrong technical background involving low-voltage switchboards, switchgear assemblies, or related power-distribution equipmentFamiliarity with UL 891 and/or UL 1558 standards and associated compliance requirementsAbility to review, guide, and approve complex engineering documentation and electrical system designsExperience supporting technical proposals, bill-of-material development, and quotation processesStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, sales, procurement, and customer-facing functionsProven ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining quality and schedule commitmentsWhat You'll BringThe ideal candidate is a strategic engineering leader who enjoys mentoring teams, solving complex technical challenges, and influencing the direction of power-distribution product development.
