From planned upgrades to urgent power failures, their team is trusted for fast, reliable, and high-performance solutions that keep critical operations running.Role Overview:As a Power Systems & Field Engineering Specialist, you'll work across the full project lifecycle—from design and modeling to field commissioning and troubleshooting. This is a dynamic, hands-on role requiring deep electrical engineering knowledge and the ability to adapt quickly in both office and field environments.Primary Responsibilities:Engineering & Design:Develop and analyze power distribution systems, including substations, transformers, relays, breakers, and switchgearPerform system modeling and simulations to optimize performance and ensure regulatory complianceDraft and review technical drawings, design specs, and project documentationConduct system studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and relay coordinationCollaborate with project engineers, field technicians, and clients to deliver tailored solutionsField Service & Commissioning:Perform on-site testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipmentCalibrate instruments and maintain testing tools to ensure accuracy and complianceIdentify system issues in the field and recommend corrective actionsMaintain accurate documentation and prepare detailed reports for stakeholdersEnsure all field activities meet safety standards and applicable regulationsExperience:Minimum 3 years of experience in power systems engineering; field testing experience strongly preferredTechnical Skills:Proficient in MATLAB, ETAP, or similar modeling softwareSolid foundation in electrical theory, power electronics, and protection systemsStrong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilitiesSoft Skills:Excellent verbal and written communicationStrong organizational skills and attention to detailSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and on multidisciplinary teamsCertifications:PE license required (or in progress)Certifications in Power System Protection or related areas are a plusTravel:Willingness to travel up to 50% for field service as neededEducation:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution (PE license eligibility in South Carolina required)Compensation & Benefits:Competitive salary based on qualifications and experienceAnnual performance-based bonusesComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with employer matchGenerous PTO and paid holidaysOngoing training and career advancement opportunitiesSupportive, collaborative work environment
