Up to $220K + Bonus & Benefits
Full-time
I’m currently supporting a specialist power engineering consultancy that is growing its team and looking for an Electrical Engineer with strong Power Systems and PSCAD/EMT experience .
You’ll work directly with senior engineers on technically challenging projects across hyperscale data centres, behind-the-meter generation, BESS, microgrids and next-generation energy infrastructure .
What you’ll work on:
- PSCAD / EMT modelling – building, validating and running electromagnetic transient models
- Power system studies – load flow, short circuit, dynamic stability, protection coordination and RAM
- BESS & inverter-based resources – including grid-forming and grid-following controls
- Data centre & microgrid projects – large-load dynamics, islanded systems and behind-the-meter generation
- Synchronous machines & controls – AVR, governors and PSS
- Technical reports and client-facing engineering deliverables
- Emerging technologies including HVDC, SMRs and advanced power system controls
Ideal background:
- 5–8 years’ power systems experience
- Strong hands-on PSCAD / EMT modelling experience
- Experience with PSS/E, ETAP or DIgSILENT
- Solid understanding of power systems, symmetrical components and machine dynamics
- Experience with IBRs, BESS, HVDC or power electronics
- Python/MATLAB and RTDS/HIL experience would be highly desirable
This is an opportunity to join a small, highly technical team working on complex projects at the intersection of AI/data centre growth and the future power grid .
