Power Study Engineer
This role supports the Power Services division by performing detailed power system studies and providing technical field support that ensures safe, reliable, and compliant electrical system performance. You'll be responsible for analyzing system behavior, identifying risks, and supporting commissioning and maintenance activities that directly impact project safety, customer operations, and overall system reliability. Success in this role means delivering accurate engineering analysis, clear technical recommendations, and dependable field support—all while upholding KE's commitment to Safety, People, Passion, and Performance. You'll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities may include:
Power System Studies
- Perform Arc Flash studies
- Conduct Short Circuit studies
- Perform Coordination studies and analyze customer protection issues
- Conduct Load Flow studies and evaluate system loading
- Perform Grounding studies and assess grounding system performance
- Conduct Power Quality studies and analyze system disturbances
- Perform feasibility studies for solar projects
- Conduct Voltage Drop studies
Field Support
- Lead and support commissioning projects
- Support testing and maintenance activities in the field
You're someone who shows up ready to work hard, learn fast, and contribute to a team that takes pride in doing things right. Successful candidates typically bring:
- 3+ years of experience in power system analysis or electrical design
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering
- Proficiency with power system software such as SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, Windmil, or similar
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and utility interconnection processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Technical writing ability and attention to detail
- PE license or the ability to obtain one is a strong plus
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
$74,320-$83,610, plus incentive opportunities, or additional compensation.
