Position Summary
Under direction, responsible for communicating, monitoring, and updating resource availability to SPP Balancing Authority; for preparing and submitting daily energy offers and interchange schedules; for monitoring real-time output levels to ensure profitability; for optimizing OMPA's assets real-time to increase profitability.
Essential Functions
- Prepare, communicate, monitor, and update generation resource availability to appropriate internal and external entities
- Issue commitment and dispatch instructions to plant personnel
- Monitor real-time generation output to ensure data accuracy and unit profitability
- Review real-time energy usage from member cities to validate data accuracy
- Coordinate and support communication between member cities and engineering staff regarding outages and service restoration
- Prepare and distribute daily operational and economic reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Perform duties independently while exercising sound judgment and problem-solving skills
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in energy management, mathematics, finance, accounting, or a related field preferred
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
- Industry experience is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer software required
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Equivalent Qualifications Broad knowledge of accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, or related fields equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 7–11 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
