Job TitleEssential Functions:Engineer Develops new or modifies existing, embedded programs, AC drive systems, power converters, and electric machine designs.Continue to expand on understanding of process and skills to develop wide ranges of power, complexity, and application of power systems.Projects will include emphasis on commercial details and project management including but not limited to:Speed and torque controlled motor drive developmentMotor developmentDevelopment and tuning of regulators including current, speed, torque, EMF, and field weakeningKnowledge of motor architectures, motor design, control algorithms, and dynamicsUnderstanding of power converter concepts such as buck-boost DC/DCEmbedded programming conceptsPrinted circuit board and power assembly hardware designModification or development of detailed models and simulation of systems using Matlab and SimulinkOther processes as needed and required for project execution and/or combinations of the aboveParticipate with others in the project development phases related to the products supported.Collaborate with Sales team and customers to define and support product requirements.Progress to increasing opportunity to lead complex, multi-faceted engineering projects.Appreciate and demonstrate FLANDERS' Core Values and Principles, and Corporate Mission.OtherObserve all safety procedures and use proper safety equipment as needed.Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.Promote strong company image and maintain positive working relationships.Provide outstanding customer service.Perform work according to established company policies and procedures.Perform other duties as requested.Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Electrical/Electronic/Computer engineering preferred.Experience: 0-10 years of experience involving power electronics design, motor control development, motor design, low level firmware development, and/or control electronics design.Other: Good analytical and critical thinking skillsGood communication skills in both written and verbal formsGood interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to multitask multiple prioritiesStrong knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to promote a positive company image to customerAbility to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to non-routine dutiesOvernight travel required with international travel optional
