Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Power & Thermal Systems Engineer who is fueled by high accountability, execution horsepower, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.Position SummarySince Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Power & Thermal Systems Engineer to lead power generation and balance assessments across station configurations and architectures for the Axiom Commercial Station Program.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesExecute power generation analysis using Thermal Desktop across a range of station configurations and parametersPerform power balance assessments based on generation assessments and power consumption profilesMaintain and version control (Git) scripts and tooling required to perform the above analysesMaintain database used for storing power consumption data, heat sink projections, and configuration association analysesDevelop additional tooling (Python, MATLAB, etc.) for physics-based assessments in support of design of power generation sources.Perform trade studies and various "what-if" scenarios regarding station power and thermal performanceCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure accurate inputs and validate assumptions.Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadershipImplementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecyclePerform additional job duties as assignedQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field (Master's preferred)Minimum of 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceHands-on proficiency with Thermal Desktop thermal analysis softwareExperience modeling spacecraft power and thermal systemsExperience developing and using python-based tooling, libraries, and scripting to conduct analysisStrong database and data architecture skillsExperience translating analysis results into reports, dashboards, and stakeholder-ready formatsTrack record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsUses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challengesDemonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high quality resultsLevel IIBachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field (ABET-accredited preferred), required across all levels2-6 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceLevel IIIBachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field (ABET-accredited preferred), required across all levels4-9 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceLevel IVMaster's Degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, preferred for Levels II–V and strongly preferred for Levels VI–VII7-12 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experiencePlus whatever else is pertinentLevel VMaster's Degree or Ph.D.
