Diesel Technician PositionAmerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel Technician in Barrington, NJ. Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul of heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers. Some mechanics in this occupation specialize in hydraulic-operated transmissions and attachments, drive trains, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering.Up to a $2500 to Sign on Bonus$2500 Retention Bonus AFTER 6 Months of EmploymentSeeking a Diesel Technician with DOT inspection experience and Cummins engine knowledge to service Yard Goats, Jockeys, and Switchers.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting yard switchers, performing brake repairs, and conducting basic electrical diagnostics. The fleet also includes CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.Perform services and repairs to diesel engines, brakes, tires, AC, and regular PM services are required.Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computerPerform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation requiredComply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/proceduresInspect and perform work on the under parts of vehiclesAccess any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenanceMove parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehiclesInteract with clients through both email and phone as necessaryPerform other duties as requiredAt least 5+ years experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical schoolExperience servicing and repairing CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment – highly desiredASE Certifications – preferredMust have valid Driver's License- Class CProficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and EmailStrong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicleMust provide own hand tools & toolbox
