PostgreSQL Database AdministratorResponsibilities:• PostgreSQL database design, including architecture, installation procedures, build and configuration standards• Design and Setup High Availability Database Replication and Infrastructure• Database Administration and troubleshooting of database issues, including production performance and outage scenarios• Develop database patch/version upgrade roadmap, scalable deployment automation• Database maintenance automation using Ansible, SHELL, python• Hands on experience with migration from traditional DB platforms (Sybase/Oracle/DB2) to PostgreSQL• Provide on-call support on rotation as per schedules• Provide solutions across multiple variants of PostgreSQL including CrunchyData, EDB, Yugabyte, and other cloud based solutionsBasic Requirements:• More than 7 years of experience in PostgreSQL Database administration• In Depth understanding of PostgreSQL Database technology, standard patterns, and best practices• Extensive PostgreSQL Database performance tuning experience• Deep knowledge of industry-standard, enterprise-class best practices for a large database environment• Good understanding of Linux/VM platform• Deep understanding of HA, DR Database and storage technologies as they relate to PostgreSQL• Experience implementing, supporting and auditing database security in PostgreSQL• Experience with Unix/Linux OS platform and Unix Shell/Perl scripting and automationPreferred Skills:• Experience with Database monitoring tools such as Foglight• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Experience working in virtual environment using VMware
