Department Information
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop full-stack software solutions for 3Dmodeling and interactive media, to support faculty and studentresearch in games, simulation, and XR environments.
- Support faculty in the development and deployment of thefront-end and back-end components of a macro-scale Digital Twinmodel.
- Provide technical assistance to faculty in the motion capturefacility, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting ofVicon systems after receiving vendor training.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate researchers involved in CIMprojects
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ANDABILITIES*:
- Full-stack development experience to support games,simulation, and XR research, preferably with 3D modellingskills.
- Foundational expertise in machine learning and big dataanalytics
Job Summary
Postdoctoral Researchers support teams of KSU faculty andstudents (undergraduate and graduate students), which engage withexternal collaborators from other universities, community members,government agencies, and/or private sector entities to stimulateinnovation, capacity-building, and sustainability of research andscholarly activity at KSU.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and executes experimental activities, data analyses,submission of reports or of manuscripts to peer-reviewedpublications, and/or attendance and presentation of researchfindings at appropriate venues of dissemination
- Develops and contributes to new ideas for research proposals anddirections within the research group
- Develops an Individual Development Plan (IDP) in collaborationwith faculty mentor
- Generates revenue by securing grants and participates indepartmental and institutional career development programs, such asgrant writing workshops
- Prepares project budget and ensures funded project operateswithin budget guidelines
- Maintains official records and documents, and ensures compliancewith institutional policies, and federal, state and localregulations
- Establishes working relationships and cooperative arrangementswith internal and external partners
- Engages in research and publication
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. D.V.M, Sc.D., M.D., PharmD.,etc.) from an accredited institution of higher education orobtainment of doctorate degree within six (6) months of hire
