The Arnold Healthy Kids Initiative at the University of South Carolina is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to begin August 2026. The postdoc will assist with several NIH funded projects within the Arnold Healthy Kids Initiative focusing on sleep and dietary improvement in children to positively impact their health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating the implementation of a behavioral clinical trial to help parents improve their young child's sleep.
- Preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.
- Data analysis.
- Delivering scientific presentations at regional and national conferences.
- Seeking out and applying for fellowship and/or research funding.Other related tasks.
Eligibility: The position requires a PhD in public health, behavioral science, nutrition, exercise science, psychology or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong leadership skills and potential to mentor graduate and undergraduate students
- Experience with management and analysis of complex datasets, including experience with SAS, SPSS, STATA, or R
- A strong track record of publications in scientific journals.
- Experience in health promotion, community-based prevention/intervention, and/or health disparities research
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing English
- Strong interpersonal skills sufficient to inspire, lead, and work effectively with diverse groups
- Ability to effectively direct, manage, and lead professional and support staff
- Excellent problem-solving skills with proven ability to strategize, prioritize, and multitask to meet goals and deadlines
- Ability to make presentations and prepare reports
