Pacu Rn Job DescriptionPACU RN's monitor post-operation vital signs, levels of consciousness, and assure patients safely wake from anesthesia after surgery. PACU RN's treat pain, nausea, and other patient post-op symptoms, and any side effects of anesthesia. PACU RN's work in the post-Anesthesia care unit at a hospital; can also be known as the recovery room.Education/Requirements:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year EducationAssociates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year EducationYou must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.RN's can only work with an active state license.ACLS, CPAN and PALS are often required**1 yr experience on the specialty being submitted and 2 years overall experience at a minimum
