PORTFOLIO MANAGER ASSOCIATE - FIWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?Primarily responsible for executing buy and sell orders for municipal and/or corporate bonds in both secondary and primary markets for duration targeted fixed income strategies. May participate in active strategy portfolio management at the discretion of PM's or Sr. PMs on the fixed income team. Manage and report volume, flow and other relevant trading and market statistics.

Liaison with PM teams to ensure open communication and education on various aspects of portfolio construction, sales and market conditions.WHAT WILL YOU DO?Determine and implement appropriate trades that are consistent with client and strategy objectives for both new and existing accountsUse Python, R or similar tools to perform data analysis, write basic scripts, and help translate investment and trading requirements into practical solutions.Review orders to ensure accuracy, proper record keeping, and conformance to regulationsEvaluate market volatility and ensures clients receive the best rate availablePerform any necessary follow up activities to ensure proper final processing of tradesMonitor technical trading trends and report to broader fixed income teamInterface with research and investment teams to ensure City National Rochdale’s strategy is accurately reflected in portfoliosCommunicate strategic and market shifts to internal colleaguesReview the assets in the passive strategies on a regular basis to ensure that investments continue to meet the intent and strategies of the clientManage cash flow, coupon and maturity reinvestment and liquidity requirementsCommunicate to internal colleagues, especially PM teams, about current market conditions and trading strategiesMaintain all appropriate compliance, training and continuing education requirements for both internal programs and external licenses and certificationsActively participate in team and firm efforts to find process efficiencies via enhanced technology and “digital mastery”WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Required Qualifications*Bachelor's Degree or equivalentMinimum 3 years’ experience in the fixed income marketsAdditional QualificationsStrong technology background and agilityDemonstrated self-motivation and emotional intelligenceAbility to communicate and collaborate effectively across quantitative and portfolio management functions, supporting coordination across different areas of expertiseHigh level of curiosity, sense of ownership, accountability and ethical standardsKnowledge of Bloomberg and other financial market platforms (e.g. MarketAxess)Excellent analytical skills, understanding of the economy and market conditionsExperience with securities trading, dealer relationships and trading platformsStrong communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentAbility to effectively articulate investment philosophy to internal constituentsAbility to plan, organize and prioritizeWHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?CompensationStarting base salary: $92,114 - $156,880 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
