Awkward Family Photos is bringing its holiday portrait studio to Southlake Mall in Merrillville, IN : a set built like Grandma's living room, a rack of ridiculous outfits, and the most hilariously over-serious family portraits you've ever seen.
We're hiring a Popup Coordinator to run the booth for the season. You don't need to be a photographer. We have photographers; we need someone to run the place.
What you'll do
- Open and close the booth, check guests in on the iPad and keep the line moving
- Style guests in our wardrobe
- Lead the booth's photographers and help train new team members
- Be the mall's point of contact, and receive and pack up the booth kit
- Handle the tricky moments, like an unhappy guest or an equipment failure, and report daily numbers
What we're looking for
- Supervisory experience in retail, events or hospitality
- Genuinely calm when it gets busy, and a reliable communicator
- Available all season, weekends and holidays included
The details
- Pay: Competitive hourly pay
- Paid in-person training: Wednesday, October 21, 11am–4pm at Southlake Mall
- Season: Nov 6 – Dec 24, 2026; afternoons, evenings and weekends
- Seasonal 1099 contractor, on-site in Merrillville, IN
- No cash handling: guests pay on their own phones
