Job Summary
This posting is for a pooled position. Application submissions for “( POOL )” positionsare accepted on an ongoing basis to ensure a continuous and readypool of qualified candidates for immediate review when the needarises. If/when a position becomes available, the College willreview applications from this pool, and interview candidates whosequalifications best match the specific opening. Applicants must reapply to the pool annually to maintain theiractive status in the pool. This pool has been established to accept applications for possiblepart-time teaching positions throughout the year. Provides teachingand learning support in core Physical Education classes that mayinclude but not limited to weight training, basketball, dance,yoga, soccer, golf, cardio kickboxing, karate, ultimate frisbee andPhysical Education lecture classes.
Essential Duties
- Promote excellence in instruction through innovativeinstructional methods in the Health and Human PerformanceProgram.
- Identify and meet the needs for student learning. Promotestudent learning and skills attainment. Work within the guidingprinciples of outcomes based learning.
- Deliver teaching to students, assess student learning. Gradepapers on time, turn in grades on time.
- Monitor students for effective and safe execution of exercisemovements. Ensure that a safe, respectable classroom environment isachieved.
- Work within the philosophy and mission of the college as aneducator.
- May occasionally advise Health and Human Performance studentsand facilitate in their learning.
- Perform assigned teaching and advising roles, to includepromoting the program and student retention.
- Actively engage in communication and collaboration within theHealth and Human Performance Department.
- Work on a planned schedule of professional development tomaintain current knowledge and practice.
- Assist in departmental learning activities as assigned.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Requires the ability to work with staff and students.
- Work is performed in an office or classroom setting withminimal exposure to safety or health hazards.

Salary and Compensation Information
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty beginat Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being “rolled” once per term,if eligible.

- Table 1 illustrates the cost per credit for each step on thepay scale. Instructors new to the College typically start at therate listed in column 1.
