Polisher - Part TimeAt the Inn at Mattei's Tavern, our goal is to offer the highest level of guest experience according to our Sequence of Service. The polisher / porter is responsible for maintaining supplies clean, organized and stocked before, during and after service. They assist in the control inventory of OS&E, the flow in and out of the kitchen and the dining room.
They must be able to see the operation as a whole and move around their team to accomplish the best service and ensure the team is set up for success.Duties and responsibilities include preparing for each shift by ensuring the section and side stations are properly set up, receiving, opening, unpacking, storing, organizing and maintaining front of house restaurant supplies, maintaining adequate stock of supplies necessary for service including to go paper goods, glassware, silverware, etc., polishing all glassware, silverware and china circulated in the Tavern Building, folding napkins and roll ups, periodically taking physical inventory of FOH supplies, communicating with the kitchen any dishwashing needs, assisting in all non alcoholic juicing and prep of garnishes, performing all running side work as assigned, performing duties to close the restaurant as assigned, properly maintaining strict standards of cleanliness in all dining areas, properly maintaining strict organization standards to prevent breakage, maintaining company standards of presentation, uniform, etc., supporting the servers and the kitchen by communicating properly, and exceeding guest expectations consistently.Required qualifications include calm, clear, organized and concise communication to all members of the team, being extremely organized and maintaining a clean workspace, ability to be flexible and adapt to a variety of service settings including dining, event, terrace, etc., having a proprietary interest in the success of the restaurant at all times - is committed to the success of all teammates, speed and attention to detail, and an open schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in a fine dining atmosphere or luxury hotel experience.The physical job demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. $16.90/hour +
