The City of Greenwood Village is seeking a Police Officer Recruit (non-POST certified) for our Police Department. This position offers a competitive salary range of $33 to $36.43 per hour, depending on experience and successful completion of the Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) program. This position is non-exempt/hourly and does not offer remote or hybrid schedules. Relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license, a POST certificate from the State of Colorado, and CPR and First Aid certificates. Preferred qualifications include an Associate of Arts degree or equivalent in criminal justice, police science, or a related field.

The role involves performing patrol duties, investigating complaints and suspicious situations, crime prevention, traffic enforcement, and providing assistance to other officers. It also includes responding to various medical emergencies, enforcing municipal and state traffic laws, and assisting with field training functions and special units on a temporary basis. The position requires knowledge of police methods and procedures, criminal law, first aid principles, self-defense tactics, interviewing and interrogation techniques, modern office procedures, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
