Pole Polisher OperatorDuration: 06 months Temp to HireLocation: Anniston, AL 36207Shift: 3:30 PM - 2:00AMPay Rate: $18.00/hr. W2EDUCATION: MINIMUM HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GEDWORKING HOURS: 3:30 PM - 2:00AMPotential overtime as business requiresTRAINING WILL BE ON DAYS 5AM - 3:30PM - WILL THEN MOVE TO NIGHT SHIFT (THE DURATION OF TRAINING WOULD DEPEND ON THE INDIVIDUALS ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY)This role offers a $2.00 shift differential when working on nightsMANAGER'S NOTES BELOW:Safety focused, comfortable in manufacturing facility, work in elements of weather, comfortable getting dirtyA leading manufacturer of Concrete Lighting Poles has an immediate opening for an experienced Pole Polisher Operator in our Anniston, Alabama plant. We make employee safety, professional development, innovation, and customer service our top priority.Primary ResponsibilitiesIdentify any Non-Conforming Products.Move the pole into the polishing area, as needed.Use Overhead Crane to remove and replace poles.Set Poles on the traveling table and secure.Set up magnetic stops and holders, as needed.Run table to set stops.Start motors and table.Set wheels to a standard pressure for grinding.Polish facets to exposed rock.Bevel edges of poles, as needed.Change wheels, as required.Put poles on Transverser and wash down when the pole is finished.Secondary ResponsibilitiesLubricate slides and shafts on motors.Keep dust collector clean.Adjust machinery, as required.

Troubleshoot for potential breakdown problems.Work from shipping log for dates and data.Work closely with the fork forklift operator.Experience/Training RequirementsMust be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure required for the job.Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and drawing required to carry out the job.Must be able to document the results of his/her job.Have good eye-hand coordination.Know Hand Signals: a) Up- Down b) Left-Right c) In-OutAbility to understand the difference between round, square, octagonal, and hexagonal poles.Know the size, lengths, and color of the poles being polished.Able to Identify cavities such as a) Frames b) Cable c) Wire exits d) Couplings e) Copper wireMaintain a lead over Shipping.CONCLUDINGThe operator shall consider him/herself as part of a team working towards the same goal and consider your fellow workers ashis/her customers.Must be able to work efficiently and effectively without supervision. Report difficulties as they develop. Providesuggestions or solutions.Must be willing to do other tasks as assigned by their supervisor.Must remember Safety comes first.
