PLP Extrusion TechnicianAlamance, NC 27201Employment Type: Contract to Perm Job Number: Pay Rate: $16.00 / hourJob Title: PLP Extrusion OperatorLocation: Burlington, NCShift: 2nd 3p-11p M-F Pay: $16.00Job Summary: The PLP Extrusion Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion equipment to produce high-quality polypropylene (PLP) yarn or film used in the production of mattress tapes and mattress ticking. This role requires attention to detail, technical skill, and a strong focus on maintaining consistent product quality and production efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Set up and operate extrusion lines to produce polypropylene yarn, film, or tape according to production requirements.Monitor machine settings, temperatures, pressures, and speeds to maintain product consistency.Inspect extruded materials for uniformity, color, width, and quality; make necessary adjustments as needed.Thread up extrusion lines and winders to ensure smooth startup and changeovers.Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues such as breaks, blockages, or material inconsistencies.Record production data, including lot numbers, material usage, and output.Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of extrusion equipment.Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.Communicate with the production supervisor and quality team regarding any process or product issues.Qualifications:Prior experience in plastic or yarn extrusion preferred, especially in a textile or industrial manufacturing setting.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform equipment adjustments.Understanding of extrusion process controls and quality inspection procedures.Ability to stand for long periods and lift raw materials as needed.Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
