Job Description Physician Assistant – Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (NYC / NJ)

Ovadia Plastic Surgery is a growing boutique plastic and reconstructive surgery practice with a flagship office in Lower Manhattan (225 Broadway), a satellite office in Millburn, NJ, and a Jersey City location opening soon. Led by a double fellowship-trained, board-certified plastic surgeon, our practice spans complex reconstructive surgery — gender-affirming surgery, craniofacial, breast reconstruction, and wound care — alongside a growing aesthetic practice including cosmetic surgery, neurotoxins, and fillers, with laser services planned.

We’re looking for a Physician Assistant to work directly with the surgeon across the full scope of the practice: first‑assisting in the OR, managing pre‑ and post‑operative care, and growing an injectables practice under physician supervision. This is a role for a PA who brings energy and warmth to every patient interaction and takes real pride in their work. Experienced surgical PAs will step into a high‑autonomy role with significant OR time and the opportunity to develop an aesthetics practice with productivity upside. New graduates with strong surgical rotations will also be considered and will receive direct one‑on‑one mentorship from a fellowship‑trained surgeon across reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery — a breadth of training rarely available in a first position. Compensation is tiered to experience across the posted range.

LOCATION: This role requires working in both New York and New Jersey. Candidates must be comfortable splitting time between our Manhattan and Millburn offices and our affiliated hospitals and surgical facilities in northern NJ.

SCHEDULE: Full‑time, 4 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • First assist in the OR (reconstructive and cosmetic cases) in NYC and NJ
  • Perform pre-operative evaluations and post-operative visits, including drain removal, suture removal, wound care, and dressing changes
  • See clinic patients independently and alongside the surgeon at both office locations
  • Administer neurotoxin and filler injections (training and mentorship provided if needed)
  • Respond to patient calls and messages regarding post-operative concerns
  • Assist with hospital consults and inpatient rounding as needed
  • Support laser treatments as the practice adds devices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • NCCPA certification required
  • Active, unrestricted New Jersey PA license required at time of hire
  • Willingness to obtain New York PA licensure promptly (practice will support the application process)
  • Surgical first‑assist experience preferred (plastic surgery, general surgery, ENT, or OMFS)
  • New graduates with strong surgical rotation experience will also be considered
  • Warm, positive presence that patients remember; excellent bedside manner and attention to detail in a high‑touch, concierge‑level patient experience
  • Reliable self‑starter who works well in a small, close‑knit team and brings a positive attitude to busy days
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $120,000–$160,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Malpractice coverage provided
  • Opportunity to grow an injectables/aesthetics practice with productivity upside
  • Direct mentorship and case exposure across reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery
  • Collegial, design‑forward office environment
