Biodiesel Plant Operators / Loaders
Sirius Staffing seeking Biodiesel Plant Operators / Loaders to support night-shift operations at a manufacturing facility in Danville, IL Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–1:00 AM Assignment: 18-month contract with potential for extension or permanent employment based on business needs and performance. This is a hands-on role responsible for loading and unloading liquid products and raw materials, operating pumps and valves, monitoring plant processes, completing shipping and receiving documentation, and coordinating with truck drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload finished products and raw materials between tankers and storage tanks.
- Connect and disconnect trucks to pumps, hoses, valves, tanks, and related transfer equipment.
- Operate and monitor pumps, valves, hoses, tanks, and other plant equipment.
- Monitor process variables and automated systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Troubleshoot basic operational or equipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Check truck drivers and shipments in and out of the facility.
- Process paperwork and documentation for each incoming and outgoing load.
- Use computerized systems to track pump connections, loads, inventory, and shipment activity.
- Review daily schedules and coordinate loading and unloading activities.
- Send emails and communicate shipment or operational information as needed.
- Maintain accurate records related to inventory, billing, loads, and shipments.
- Work directly with truck drivers while maintaining professional and courteous communication.
- Follow all plant safety procedures and requirements when handling products and equipment.
- Perform routine housekeeping and prepare the work area for the following shift.
- Perform routine duties independently while receiving supervision for non-routine activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, plant, industrial, warehouse, or similar environment.
- Hands-on familiarity with equipment such as pumps, hoses, valves, tanks, or similar industrial equipment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate small utility vehicles as required.
- Good computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, email, and basic computer systems.
- Comfortable learning and navigating automated plant or inventory systems.
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork and electronic documentation throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling inventory, billing, loads, and shipment documentation.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work professionally with truck drivers, coworkers, and other facility personnel.
- Willingness to perform housekeeping and general plant-support duties.
- Ability to work the required Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–1:00 AM night shift.
- Ability to temporarily work day shift during initial onsite safety orientation and training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience; onsite certification will be provided.
- Previous experience as a plant, manufacturing, production, or process operator.
- Shipping and receiving experience.
- Experience loading or unloading liquid products from tankers, railcars, or similar equipment.
- Experience working with truck scales.
- Experience handling hazardous materials.
- Previous experience working with pumps, hoses, valves, tanks, or liquid-transfer systems.
- Experience maintaining shipping, receiving, inventory, or load documentation in a fast-paced environment.
